Project Lead the Way
Anderson School District 5 has led the way in South Carolina by being the first district in the state to have a certified PLTW program. Since 2000, the program has grown to include 4 middle schools and one elementary school, which is the first in the nation to develop and pilot the PLTW curriculum.
The District's Mission in Science: In Anderson School District Five, we understand that science touches every part of life. Anderson School District Five offers science instruction that develops scientific literacy, exposes students to real world science applications and connections, and relates science to technology. The use of the Science Instructional Model, based on the learning cycle, allows opportunities for students to explore, develop concepts, communicate their ideas, and apply knowledge.
